Urban Angel Profile of the Day: Hosea Chanchez – Watch Me Win Foundation

by Kim Anthony

Welcome to another profile in my series of “Urban Angel Profiles” of urban professionals who are “doing well while doing good.”  Today I am pleased to share about Hosea Chanchez and the Watch Me Win Foundation.

Hosea Chanchez grew up in Montgomery, Alabama. At the young age of twenty he made a move to a new city, Los Angeles, California where his dreams of becoming a working actor would one day become a reality. With hard times and poverty surrounding his journey to a new place, his faith, discipline and determination lead the way for his success.

Most noticeable for his role as Malik Wright on the hit CW and BET television show, The Game. His portrayal of a brash, yet loving, young man faced with sudden success has won him notable acclaim.

From his own experiences and upbringing Hosea Chanchez has developed a passion for helping others succeed. Through the development of the WATCHMEWIN organization, he hopes to teach and encourage the youth of America to live life above the trend and to experience a life of purpose, fearlessness and faith.

“I decided to start this foundation to give back to a cause that’s often over looked, “youth” empowerment,” says Hosea. “As I travel the globe I realize the thing that gives youth in America more possibilities than anything else is the power of a free mind and the will to dream past their circumstance. That’s what’s gotten me this far and that’s what WATCHMEWIN is about; the power to overcome social-economical roadblocks opening the pathway to winning”.
